Tverskaya Street, commonly known as Tverskaya, is among the widest and most picturesque streets of the city. It acquired the current layout in the mid-1930s, when, according to Joseph Stalin's Master Plan for the Reconstruction of Moscow, the street was widened, and low-rise buildings were replaced with neoclassical Stalinist apartment blocks. In spite of that, a number of early-19th century and even mid-18th century buildings remained in place. Today, this building houses the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. Another example is the former Moscow Governor General House (Tverskaya Street 13), which is currently the Mayor of Moscow's office.

And let us not forget the famous ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin, Red Square, Saint Basil's Cathedral and the State Historical Museum!

Tverskaya is almost free of newly constructed buildings. Over the last few years, only a handful of buildings were remodeled to become exclusive hotels and luxury residential compounds. Even so, the street's appearance was not only not scarred by this renovation, but it was improved - all owing to the expertise of Moscow architects.

This does not mean, however, that the supply for apartment rental on
